Who is Dr. Rita?

Rita P. Stein, Ed.D. is an internationally recognized expert in educational and corporate recruitment, human resources, policies and practices working with bilingual students staff and clients’ character development in the workplace and professional development. She can train staff in Microsoft Office applications to establish efficient interoffice communication and staff expertise in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Dr. Rita, as she is known, has cultivated her reputation through her private consulting work on recruitment and retention, employment practices, and workplace relationships for school districts and corporations in the United States and abroad. Through her development of training workshops on character education, leadership, employee development, and customer service, she has transformed staff culture at all levels.


She can craft and maintain professional development programs and institutes that support employee development, loyalty, and enhanced productivity.


Dr. Rita is the co-author of the books Induction: Connecting Recruitment to Retention and Connecting Character to Conduct: Helping Students Do the Right Thing. These are guidebooks to finding the best staff and then retaining them as productive, effective, loyal and long-lasting employees.


Dr. Rita's hands-on educational administrative experience includes over 20 years at the Half Hollow Hills School District in Dix Hills, New York, where she served in various positions as curriculum specialist, personnel administrator, and as a building principal before spending more than 20 years working directly with the Superintendent of Schools as Director of Human Resources, overseeing the recruitment and training of thousands of certified and noncertified staff members.


Dr. Rita was a professor at Suffolk County Community College. She has taught Education Administration courses at Dowling College and Administration and HR best practices and law at Stony Brook University. She is an active consultant for the Nassau County, New York BOCES Diversity Recruitment Initiative and the New York City Safe Schools Initiative, and is a sought-after presenter on the local and national level for educational and personnel conferences.


On the corporate side, Dr. Rita has been a frequent consultant at different Sandals Resorts, law and medical offices, and other corporations. She has had widespread acclaim for her lively, enthusiastic workshops and the long-lasting results that they achieve.


Rita Stein holds a doctoral degree from Columbia University Teachers College and has studied at the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Hunter College in New York and received a professional degree in school administration from C.W. Post College of Long Island University.


Dr. Rita is married and resides with her family on Long Island.
